Spacebrat’s First Free NFT Minted Across Multiple Blockchains Over 300,000 Times

Spacebrat, the artist behind the popular “Gleam” NFT, has exceeded expectations. The release of her first free NFT on the multi-chain protocol, Holograph was a big win. The NFT was minted over 300,000 times across several chains, with the majority of collectors claiming their tokens on Polygon. The Holograph protocol allows users to bridge the NFTs across several chains. This includes Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, and Polygon. They could then yield unique digital tokens that signify ownership of an item, often digital art.

“Gleam” was originally available for free during a two-day window through Holograph’s website. The collectors could choose which chain to mint their collectible on. But they still had to pay costs associated with transactions, also known as gas fees. The NFT is currently available on secondary marketplaces like OpenSea. Each chain has its own dedicated page, whether that’s for Ethereum-based versions of “Gleam” or those that exist on Polygon.

Jasmine Monsegue, also known as Spacebrat, is a renowned artist who has had her work featured in Vogue and Hypebeast. She previously exhibited the piece “Gleam” at WHAAM!, an art gallery in New York, for her solo show “Pipe Dream.” She has also designed murals for Virgil Abloh’s OFF WHITE and done commissioned work for Drake, Holograph said in a press releaseHolograph spokesperson told Decrypt that they minted the NFT “Gleam” around 203,000 times on Polygon, the Ethereum scaling solution, out of the total 301,798 times it was minted, marking Spacebrat’s first foray into the Web3 space. They cited a Dune query to support the information. That was significantly more than versions of “Gleam” minted on Avalanche or BNB Chain, which totaled around 53,000 and 46,000, respectively. The total number of unique wallets that participated in the open-edition mint was around 164,000, the spokesperson said, referencing another Dune query.

Holograph’s first collaboration in April, which was also an open edition mint, showcased Dan Witz’s “Mosh Pit 2000,” and was available for minting at $45, and collected 444 times. Comparably, Spacebrat’s “Gleam” gained notably more traction.

In conclusion, Spacebrat’s “Gleam” NFT has garnered significant popularity, exceeding expectations through Holograph’s multi-chain protocol. It is available on several chains and secondary marketplaces, and her collaboration with Holograph marks her first entry into the Web3 space.
